Busy Weekend, New Car!

I'm at work right now, trying to prepare for our accreditation review. Yes, it's Sunday afternoon; yes I'm blogging when I should be working, but I just needed a break.

Yesterday, we spent ALL DAY at the stinkin' car dealership trying to get them to make us a good deal. I'm a tough negitator; I tell ya what. We went back and forth and round and round. One of the problems was that we were so upside down in the loan on our other car, and even though we had money to put toward it, I had to really haggle them to get them to give us what was fair value for the trade-in. Whew. What an experience.

Long story; I'll tell more later, but suffice it to say, after putting a LOT of money down, we are now the proud owners of a 2008 Honda Civic LX. And we only financed $750 negative equity. And we're out from underneath a very large car payment and a gas hog car. I'll post some pics when we get them. We have a car payment still, but it's almost half of what the other one was. Our bank account is nearly dry, but we are in a much better financial position. Buying the Avalon was SUCH an impulse decision; and such a bad idea.

Oh well, lesson learned. Back to work; more later. Hope y'all's weekend was better than mine! LOL
